Hello Tiger Nation! I liked what I saw on Saturday. It looked like we finally found an offense! The first quarter was as we expected, Brandon Harris started and only carried us to 12 yards of offense, which obviously isn’t enough against any team, let alone an FCS team. The right thing to do was put in the second string, Purdue transfer quarterback, Danny Etling. The second quarter was what Tiger football was always meant to be. We threw passes to running backs and tight ends which opened up an exciting and high scoring offense. We saw long sustained drives that gave the defense time to rest and put the special teams in a position to succeed. My favorite play of the game was actually TD White’s insane 25-yard backwards/81-yards forward punt return for a TD. Wow, what a great play! You can watch it here:

With that touchdown and his INT return for touchdown last week, TD White is LSU’s leading scorer. What a season he’s having. He will definitely be an all-american and a high NFL draft pick.

We’ll be taking on our first SEC opponent this week in Mississippi State and Danny Etling will be the starting quarterback. Leonard Fournette will be back to 100% (after being held out last week nursing a bad ankle). Although Derrius Guice showed us last week that he was capable of gaining 155 yards on the ground (and in the air) if needed. Mississippi State has a stout defensive front seven, but they have a young offense and no Dak Prescott. I am expecting a big LSU win this Saturday night. And don’t miss seeing LSU in their gridiron gold jerseys!
