badgers-game

I am just about to eat my grandmother’s crawfish pie and red beans and rice. It is a good omen for my Tigers today and their opening game against Wisconsin. I am about to put on my LSU wig and jersey and get crazy for game day!

I am looking forward to three things in today’s game. Three questions I want answered.

1) Will Leonard Fournette have a 200 yard game and kick off his Heisman campaign? The key here will be balancing the run vs pass, keep Wisconsin from stacking the box with eight or nine guys. If Leonard Fournette can get some open space today, he may get more than 200 yards.

2) Can Brandon Harris complete the short to medium range passes? Success here will help with question #1 above. I don’t just want to see 50 yard bombs to wide receivers. I want to see check downs to Fournette and Derrius Guice in the flat and 10 yard crossing routes to tight ends for first downs.

3) Will Dave Aranda’s new look defense be fast and furious? I expect to see Davon Godchaux, Lewis Neal, and Arden Key wreaking havoc and setting up INT’s for Jamal Adams and TD White. I want to see more forced fumbles and turnovers leading to a shutout victory.

I’ve been waiting since December 29th for this day. I have LSU’s entire schedule memorized. I was so anxious on Thursday that I dreamt that I slept through the entire day Friday and woke up just in time for kickoff. Game day is here. GEAUX TIGERS!
